SHAWL-COLLARED SHRUG (early version)
Please note the changes to the second page found below between the **s.
SLEEVE: Dec 1 st on each side FF. K until RC = 394 (424, 426, 438, 445, 456) at the same time decreasing 1 st on each side every 5 (5, 4, 4, 4, 3) rws 19 (9, 25, 28, 5, 36) times and then every 4 (4, 3, 3, 3, 2) rws 8 (21, 10, 6, 35, 9) times - **33 (37, 39, 41, 42, 49)** sts. K until RC = 404 (**424**, 436, 448, 455, 466). End with COL adding an extra rw if necessary. Beginning with 2nd st from either end, release every other st 1 at a time 8 rws and latch back up to form 1x1 ribbing. BO with BS.
In addition, please note that the sleeves are sized quite long because teenagers often like them this way. You may want to measure a sweater with the sleeve length you prefer from cuff to cuff and compare with the shrug sleeve lengths. If you need help shortening the sleeves, let me know.
SUMMER SWIRL TOP (early version)
If knitting on the Bond ISM, you can't place the first three rows into holding position, bring needles back into working position, and knit with the intarsia keyplate at the same time. Instead, take off the first three rows on waste yarn and hang back on the needles 1 or 2 at a time as specified in the pattern. It is actually easier to do it this way anyway.
JAK RABBIT WITH OVERALLS (early version)
SHAPE LEGS:
To divide work into 2 sections in the middle, begin working 54 sts on each side with a separate ball of yarn and intarsia KP or remove half of the stitches on to WY and work each half separately. (Decrease 1 st in the middle so that each section is 54 sts.) Knit 27 rows (90 rows total) for each leg. Transfer EOS to the next needle, K 1 row and BO. Note: When each leg is divided and decreased, there should be 27 stitches left... the number needed to sew on the foot.
FOOT:
CCO 27 sts. RC = 0 Knit 7 rows. Inc 1 st. both sides EOR 6 X - RC = 18, 39 sts. At the beginning of the next 2 rows, CO 4 sts - RC = 20, 47 sts. K 9 rows and latch hook BO - RC =29. Fold in half, lengthwise, and sew bottom and front of foot. Stuff firmly. Sew up leg seam to top of leg, sew foot to leg making sure toe of foot is turned towards the front of the body. Stuff legs lightly. Repeat for 2nd foot.
